›Inventur – Metzstraße 11‹ (1975)
The staircase of Munich’s Metzstraße 11 becomes the transit space of the Federal Republic of Germany, 1975: In the striking portrait of the international, multicultural house community, the residents, who came to Germany as guest workers, introduce themselves and talk about their lives. As an ironic allusion to the statistical inventories of the authorities, names, nationalities and living and working conditions are documented; however, the residents take stock in their mother tongue and at their own pace. In front of the camera, they talk about hopes, plans, worries, and the sense of dislocation and not belonging.
