Flexing is a dance style that originated in Brooklyn – a trend that developed in East New York in the early 1990s. Since then, it’s been an outlet to vent emotions and show anger and frustration about racial discrimination in America: ›Our movements express where we’re coming from, what problems we’re struggling with right now. We tell stories that many can relate to – anger, love, sadness,‹ Marche says –a native of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn who began flexing at age 14. ›Where words often fail me, dance helps.‹-Source: YouTube, User: Thrash Lab
