›Voices and Shells‹ (2020)
›Voice and Shells‹ is a cinematic exploration of traces of Nazism in Munich. The collage of found footage and the artist’s own material navigates between metaphors of subjective memory, fragments of historical texts, explorations of architectures and urban spaces. Starting with the canal system, Schweizer shows facades of central Nazi buildings such as the Haus der Kunst or the Feldherrnhalle. The spiral motif holds the visual chain of associations together. As a cinematographic object, it links inside and outside, conjures different spaces and times, and makes visible (immaterial) history and the fragility of memories.
